Tori Allen Events is a cutting-edge Melbourne based events company, specialising in custom Floral Design, Event Design and Event Planning.

The team has just moved to a new, beautiful space in Hawthorn East - filled with natural light and bursting with creativity and style! No team more deserving than this one!

TAE: We love Harry the hirer, our go-to for all our hiring needs! They just keep accelerating and expanding their ranges;  they listen to their clients to ensure they are ahead in offering what you may need - we just love working with the team and always feel looked after.

Tell us your inspiration behind your Style Lab, 'End Scene'?

TAE: We began with an assortment of images, and as always it was heavily influenced by a collection of fashion references. Our initial direction was inspired by the “Gucci Garden”, a chaotic clash of pattern and colour, we then pared it back to make it more of a collide of block colour vs. print. We wanted to showcase a space that was the perfect combination of collaboration, attention to detail, and layers of design.

What did you want to achieve with this setting?

TAE: Something we would love! A little considered chaos, a little tonal, a little dirty colour palette, and a flash of the unexpected.

What is your favourite element/principle to design with?

TAE: It would have to be colour and texture, I love the drama colour brings to a space.  It can be a perfect juxtaposition or a complimentary feature. Playing with texture is always important it creates something unique and bespoke.

Why do you love your job?

TAE: I just do, I get so excited at every brief that comes our way. I love meeting new faces, exploring new options and driven by the daily journey at TAE – the team are simply phenomenal and make every day a great day!

What kind of clients do you love working with?

TAE: We have so many different types of clients from the private world through to corporate. We work with such beautiful wedding clientel - our brides mean a lot to us, we love getting them excited for their big day and feel very lucky to be a part of such a special and happy time in their lives.

On the other hand our corporate clients are also some of our favourites; we have formed so many great relationships, we are always inspired with the briefs that hit our desk and love that our corporate clients are often wanting to push the boundaries, try something new and are always open-minded when it comes to our ideas.

What trends do you see emerging in 2018?

TAE: We are loving always adding a custom tweak, something unexpected, something that people can engage with. Pastel hues matched back with dirty primary colours. Quirky, playful silhouettes are also apparent - anything Instagrammable and interactive!

Tell us about your favourite Harry the hirer piece!

TAE: I have to say anything velvet, I love the Celine range!

And lastly, tell us about your favourite Melbourne hangout!

TAE: There are too many to choose from, but I do love places that have a mix of old and new… Gertrude Street always meets the brief!
