Chris and Anna's country wedding

The brief

...was clear - "This is a wedding celebration with our friends, that's what's most important" - CJ

The guidelines were strict: by exclusive invitation, 250 guests, best friends and family only!

You can't help but want to hang out with CJ and Anna; they are genuinely kind and funny, and have infectious smiles. When we arrived at the property for a site visit, we were greeted with banana bread and hot coffee, and knew immediately that we were going to be working on something special.

Their brief, for a big but intimate wedding party, set in the countryside by the sea, with an elegantly informal vibe, set our imaginations running and soon between Harry the hirer, The Design Depot and Anna's eye for detail we had created evocative mood boards, clever concepts and subtle colour schemes for the big day.

The project

Celebrations began with a graceful ceremony by the lake. Heartfelt, relaxed and elegant, it set the mood for the rest of the occasion.

Guests were then treated to pre-dinner drinks and bite-size canapes under the stately Moonah tree, before dinner and speeches were held in the beautifully styled open-air marquee. Here, soft ambient lighting illuminated the countless strands of festoons to create a timeless, romantic look. Paris chairs accompanied a mix of round and square, clothed and raw tables, held neatly together with blush linen. White blooms entwined with lush green foliage were punctuated by bursts of fuschia and crimson flowers, made all the more exquisite by abundant candlelight.

Dancing under the stars, with espresso martinis and a distinguished whisky bar, kept the revellers and bridal party celebrating into the wee hours.

The conclusion

.... and they lived happily ever after!
