Our Commitment
Our commitment to sustainability and the environment.
Environmental, Social & Governance Statement
As one of Australia's leading event hire companies, we recognise the scale of our environmental responsibility. We’re out to do whatever we can to genuinely mitigate our environmental footprint and implement greener and more sustainable ways of working to progress our industry in a measured and responsible way. Read more about our commitments below.

Product lifespan
Fundamentally our products have inherent sustainability thanks to their virtually endless reusability factor associated with being a hiring business. What’s more, our focus on producing quality products at the outset means they stand the test of time – with a lifespan of up to 25 years.

Event Storage
While we are doing what we can to minimise our impact on the environment, we are also encouraging our clients to do the same by offering and promoting our storage service to make it easy for you to reuse event consumables that would traditionally be discarded.

Sustainable Structures
We have been in the business of providing marquees for over 35 years. In that time, we have developed a streamlined and highly systemised process for building (and deconstructing) temporary structures while minimising use of materials and, in turn, our environmental footprint.

Signage
Approximately 2000m2 of Panorama Stock from the AO was sent to Climate One's recycling depot with potential for future circular processing when capacity scales

Customs
Our Custom Build division diverts 80-90% of material waste that once went to landfill. MDF, particle board, ply and timber offcuts are collected, graded, and recycled as Smart Recycling in Dandenong into pallets. Any waste is used as BioFuel for the kiln that preps the pallets for shipping. The ash and soot from the kiln is repurposed into road material and a concrete bonding agent.

Circular Materials Breakthrough
Harry's Signage Department tackled the challenge of end-of-life polyester display fabric—previously destined for landfill—by establishing a verified recycling partnership. Following extensive testing and due diligence, the team partnered with Blocktexx to ensure a transparent and accountable circular solution.
Since July 2025, this initiative has diverted 4.125 tonnes of fabric waste from landfill, using spare capacity in existing freight runs to support efficient transport. It's a strong step toward closing the loop on signage materials, with further opportunities—like PVC banner recycling—already in sight.
We trust you have gleaned some insight into just a few of the initiatives we’re working on to make Harry the Hirer a greener and more sustainable business. We are serious about real change and putting words into action. We will continue to research, explore, consult, evaluate, review and implement new business processes and products. We are building long-standing partnerships with environmentally forward-thinking suppliers and partners and look forward to sharing our sustainable journey as it continues.
