designEX

Australia’s largest and most prominent Industry event for designers, architects and interior decorators - designEX and Form + Function were held in April 2009 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Harry the Hirer are proud to be the official build contractor for this event.

With a focus on new products and design innovation Harry the Hirer collaborated with both the show organiser dmg world media and Australia's leading trend forecastor Genty Marshall to create the Observatory Textile Feature. Using a combination of our existing designEX panels and sponsored products from the textile industry, we were able to assist Genty Marshall in constructing an innovative display feature that created a huge amount of interest and inspiration at the show amongst the trade. designEX now in its 21st year alternates between Sydney and Melbourne.

FORMULA 1™ Australian Grand Prix

The Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix was first held in Melbourne in 1996, after moving from Adelaide. This event attracts around 300,000 people to the Albert Park circuit in March each year. Four days of track action including V8 Supercars, Formula Ford, Mini Challenge and practice and qualifying sessions culminate in the final race, which in 2010 was won for the second year running by Jenson Button.

Power Distribution - AFL Centre Square

Center Square is the Australian Football League’s premier corporate Grand Final Village, built with temporary structures to entertain 4500 people before and after the Grand final game. The infrastructure and logistics behind the scenes is known only to a few in the industry, and is more complex than most events in Australia given the site and its complete lack of electricity.
